On August 8, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced a $50 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Venezuela’s elected president, Nicolás Maduro. At the same time, the Trump administration has also announced increased military deployments in Latin America and the Caribbean, sending 4,000 Marines and sailors under the U.S. Southern Command. Both of these actions are part of a campaign of aggression targeting Venezuela, justified with bogus and dangerous lies about drug cartels and narcoterrorism.
During this time of increasing U.S. attacks on Venezuela’s sovereignty and self-determination, people in Venezuela are continuing to do what they have been doing for the past 26 years of the Bolivarian revolutionary process - mobilizing and fighting back. At this month’s webinar we will hear directly from community leaders and organizers in Venezuela about their work to combat U.S. blockade, sanctions and attacks, as we also discuss the importance and urgency of building solidarity with Venezuela in the “belly of the beast”.
