On January 10, 2025 Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was sworn in for a new Presidential term (2025-2031). People from around the world travelled to Venezuela to mark this occasion and participate in the International Anti-Fascist Festival.
Join us for a discussion with firsthand accounts from on the ground in Venezuela. They will share their insights on the Presidential inauguration, and the ongoing struggle of the people of Venezuela to defend their sovereignty and self-determination against U.S.-led threats and sanctions.

CAROLINA ESCARRÁ GIL, Venezuelan political analyst and professor at the International Communications University (LAUICOM) in Caracas, Venezuela. Among other work, Carolina appears frequently as an invited guest on Telesur and is the General Director of the Carlos Escarrá Malavé Comprehensive Training School of the Venezuelan National Assembly.
ROGER HARRIS, Member of the U.S. Peace Council. He is active with Task Force on the Americas, the SanctionsKill Campaign, and is a founding member of the Venezuela Solidarity Network.
DAVID PAUL, Embassy Protection Collective member who fought to defend the Embassy of Venezuela in the United States against right-wing attack and takeover in 2019, and member of Sanctions Kill Coalition, Task Force on the Americas, and the Democratic Socialists of America.
